Canon Ivy Crawford writes . . .

Canon Ivy Crawford, Priest-in-Charge of The Five Parishes writes . . .

“I have only been in this area for 4 months, and I am greatly impressed with the wonderful community spirit and the very high standard of organisation, delivery and content of The Countess of Warwick Country Show. There is something for all ages.
It is a great day out whether one is attending on ones own or with others. Everyone involved in bringing the show together ought to be justifiably proud of their achievements. The success of this the 20th show, is also attributed to the fact that many thousands of people attended and added to the atmosphere of expectancy and delight.

Within The Five Parishes we too are very grateful to everyone involved, because the proceeds from the show go to the four active churches in the parish – Little Easton, Great Easton, Tilty and Broxted.
Thank you for your support.”

2009 Show Summary

Published by admin under 2009 Show Reports

The 2009 Show was a great success with huge crowds enjoying the sunshine and many events and exhibits. New events this year included the Tractor Challenge – an arena event involving taking wheels off tractors, rolling them round cones and back again. The Essex Police horses caused great interest, and the police helicopter visited on Sunday. The Morgan, Austin Healey and Austin 7 clubs held rallies and four vintage fire engines were displayed. The new vicar, Canon Ivy Crawford, arrived in the arena to open the show in a vintage car and was cheered by the crowd!

A fantastic two days with everything one could wish for from a small country show.
More next year…..! (29th and 30th August 2010)
