Ploughing Tractor & Sationary Engine Winners 2011

Published by admin

The rain that we had in the days before the show made the surface of the field slippery, and conditions were therefore difficult. It was a day that benefited crawlers ( tractors with tracks that spread the weight and give a better grip) although many of the wheeled tractors did a good job. There were over thirty vintage tractors in the three classes and the novices on the second benefited greatly from the supervision of the more experienced ploughmen from the first day’s competitions.

The standard of restoration in the Tractor and Stationary Engine classes was high as usual and the winners both displayed superb examples. Adrian Clements of Great Dunmow impressed the judge with his 1942 International TD12 crawler and Rob Hardie’s 1925 Petter M with an Argossy water pump from Great Bardfield stood out.
