The Horticultural Tent round up
The Horticultural Tent, one of the big centre pieces of the show and it was originally what our great show was built on, we have recently found some newspaper cuttings that show that in 1914 there were over 2000 entries. Some might think that our 447 entries this year could be seen as disappointing but […]
Show report 2022
The 2022 show was blessed with good weather on both days, the sun shone, it was not too hot and didn’t rain…what more could one ask for?! Normally the fields are still being combined during the show weekend, but this year’s harvest finished early, allowing more young (and older!) farmers to attend. The run up […]
2022 Dog Show round up
If success is measured by the amount of fun everyone had, coupled with how quickly I lost my voice commentating, then the 2022 CoWS Dog Show was a winner. New for this year, we introduced a “longest biscuit” competition which attracted many varied and skilful entrants. The dogs certainly liked the biscuit catching challenge, and […]

Results of Vintage Ploughing Competitions
Stiff competion and a wonderful display We were relieved that some timely rainfall before the Show meant the ground was softened enough to allow our popular vintage ploughing match to take place. There was stiff competition in most classes and awards were available for Straightest Furrow, Mounted Ploughing, Trailed Ploughing, Novice Ploughing and Best Restored […]

Pimms by the lake
From humble beginnings 7 years ago the Pimms Bar has become a staple part of the Show. Always to be found by the live music (so our helpers can dance while pouring your drinks) we all moved to a different position in 2021 in the newly established Food Court in front of The Manor and […]

2021 Show A Delight

Another Show over and the weather feeling decidedly autumnal now.. . ‘Another Show over’ doesn’t really do justice to the event that took place on the 2021 August Bank Holiday weekend. After having to cancel the 2020 Show and with the ongoing uncertainty over the covid pandemic, we were worried as to how this year […]
